READY TO SHIP!
Back by popular demand is my little Easter purse. This can also double as a small basket that can be also used as a purse. I have had several people use this purse well beyond Easter. I offered this purse a few years ago and it has been popular as a special order ever since. I have one purse made at present and ready to ship. I don't believe I will have time to make another one before Easter, so if you want one before Easter, I would encourage you to snap that one up. You can find a listing for it in my Etsy store.

About the purse:
This one is crocheted and can be used as a purse or small tote. Could easily be used for an Easter basket too. It is stitched with precision and has lots of extra added touches done with hand embroidery. Bunny is accented with a flower on her head and her trusty carrot nearby. It is a great accessory item or gift and would be great for little girls and big too. Pageant girls might like this one too. You can find this one in my Etsy atores. Make an old fashioned bunny cake

Did you ever make bunny cakes when you were young? Perhaps your mother or grandmother made them for you at Easter. I have had several people ask me about how to make them. I know I have those books packed away somewhere so I went online trying to find a diagram on how to make them.
I found a couple picture diagrams on a web site that I like which came from a book printed years ago.
Head on over to The Junk Yard Clubhouse to find this and other directions. Here is the link to their site.

An Easter Bunny Purse....Ready to ship to your little chick!

Easter will be here before we know it. I am currently participating in the Easter launch with Boutique Pink and Company. I may not make another one this year, so better snatch it up if you are interested. This one is crocheted and can be used as a purse or small tote. Could easily be used for an Easter basket too. Rotten Stinky Easter Egg !

Happy Easter to you all. Today is the day when Peter Cottontail, aka.... The Easter Bunny, pays a visit to many bringing an Easter basket and hiding eggs. I remember the great baskets that the Easter Bunny delivered to our house when I was young. Ok, I will admit it! I was a little hurt when those baskets stopped coming. There is just something exciting about waiting to see what goodies are in the basket. Now, I am not just talking candy. The Easter Bunny was a great shopper, and SOMEHOW "he" knew just what I liked. (My Mom was AWESOME!)
Preparing eggs to hide was a lot of fun. I remember gathering around the table at my grandparent's house and coloring eggs in preparation for the big egg hunt at church. It was such a lot of fun.
Hiding eggs wasn't only to be done as a church function. My siblings and I also hid them at home. When thinking about hiding eggs at home with my little ones, I recollect a story from my childhood that makes me laugh. One year, because it rained outside, hiding eggs at home had to be done in the house. My siblings and I excitedly hid the eggs we had colored, each one choosing special hiding places in our living room. One of us decided my father's desk might be the ideal place and hid an egg in a pull out filing drawer among the papers. We set about collecting the eggs that were hidden but somehow, the one in the desk was missed. Some time went by before we began to smell a foul odor in our house. My mother searched the house over but couldn't seem to locate the smell. She enlisted my grandmother's help. She also was unable to find the source of the stench that seemed to be getting worse each day. Finally, my mother opened the desk drawer. You guessed it.  One of our eggs was causing the terrible smell.
We laughabout it now, but back then my parents were less than pleased with our choice of egg hiding places. Come to think of it, that was the one and only time my Mother allowed us to hide REAL eggs in the house.  From then on, we hid only plastic ones.  Isn't childhood grand!! Live and learn. Growing up with my siblings left me with many happy memories which I'll forever cherish. Never a dull moment in our household. Yes, that is what real fun was made of, to be sure. How blessed I was to have such an adventurous childhood. Just goes to show that even rotten, stinky eggs can be memorable.

The meaning of Easter is Jesus Christ's victory over death. His resurrection symbolizes the eternal life that is granted to all who believe in Him. The meaning of Easter also symbolizes the complete verification of all that Jesus preached and taught during His three-year ministry. If He had not risen from the dead, if He had merely died and not been resurrected, He would have been considered just another teacher or Rabbi. However, His resurrection changed all that and gave final and irrefutable proof that He was really the Son of God and that He had conquered death once and for all. For many around the world, Easter is a day when people celebrate Christ's resurrection and His conquest over death with His ascension to Heaven and the promise of His return one day. Christians therefore believe that they too can receive new life after death through faith in Christ's miracle of the resurrection.  Easter is the celebration of this belief.

"Easter Sunday" is a holiday that helps me and I hope many others to enhance and celebrate the true meaning of existence and living life with purpose.

However you choose to celebrate this holiday, I hope this is a wonderful day for you and one that will cause you to reflect on the very purpose of life.

Do you "carrot" all for veggies? Eat them, admire them, wear them too!

Could it be that we have overlooked the somehow endless uses of the magnificent carrot? Most of us know it is as a herbaceous root vegetable that tastes great by itself, cooked or uncooked. We add them to countless food dishes. We bake them, saute them, boil and broil them. We eat carrots glazed or puréed with butter or cream, and use them in soups, stews, quiches, soufflés and omelettes.  We cut them into sticks, rounds, chunks, or julienne strips or dice, slice or grate.  Carrots are also a wonderful antioxidant for our bodies and supply us with vitamin A, potassium, vitamin C, thiamine, copper, vitamin B6, folic acid and magnesium.
Carrots also play a role in maintaining good eyesight. The carrot is a wonderful addition to our diets....but......
are we overlooking the OTHER uses for the carrot?
Carrots also play a role in design. With Easter soon approaching, designs featuring carrots are popping up.
I was contacted today by Janet, the owner of Etsy store: KoalaKlubhouse. She kindly included my handmade boutique carrot cupcake purse in her carrot treasury.  I am both pleased and honored to be included. You can see my cupcake purse here, 3rd row, 4th from the left.
Thanks again to Janet of KoalaKlubhouse. You can find her etsy store by clicking on the name of her store. She makes adorable sewn fashions for both children and dolls.

You can order my cupcake purse by accessing my current Ebay and Etsy stores or by emailing me and placing a custom order. It is the perfect accessory for your Easter set and cute to carry anytime.
Are you looking for another item that features carrots? Here is another of my purses also available for Easter. I have one right now made up and ready to ship featured in both my Ebay and Etsy stores.

Carrot Cake Cupcake Purse and Happy Easter Bunny Purse

For those of you who have been waiting for the Memorylane Boutique Easter launch, you most likely know it is here.

So far, the designers have listed some really nice items that you won't want to miss. You can find the auctions by searching MLANE Boutique on eBay. You'll be glad you did!

Among the listings are two items that I listed and want to feature here. My items for this launch were inspired by customers pre-orders for Easter. I was so happy with how the custom crochet orders turned out, that I decided to offer them for the launch.

Easter is the perfect time for a new purse, because
as you all know, every chick needs a new purse at Easter!

This first one is per custom order. That means (for those of you who don't already know) that your item will be created (handmade) for you and will be shipped to you in a few weeks. It is a YUMMY Carrot Cupcake Purse.
I just love how it turned out!

It is the perfect accessory item! The cupcake holder is done in triple layers with a hard bottom made for reinforcement so that the cupcake will hold its shape. The cupcake is roomy enough for holding treasures and ties on the top with a pretty bow. Icing for this cupcake is cream with handmade appliqued carrots encircling the top. (Carrots can be replaced with beading if desired and icing or holder color can be changed upon request.)
You can contact me about it directly or can go straight to the current Ebay auction by clicking HERE!
The second purse is a Happy Easter Bunny Purse.

This purse is ready to ship!
It has the cutest puffy cheeked 3d bunny face appliqued on the front along with his favorite meal...carrots..of course. Bunny has a cute little flower on her head and lots of hand-stitched detail that makes this purse or tote extra special.
It can be ordered by custom order as well. You can contact me about this one directly for custom order or can go straight to the
ebay auction by clicking HERE!

Both of these purses would make a wonderful Easter accessory items for any Easter outfit or could be used alone as a seasonal item.

Custom Orders--YES!
Bella Sera Boutique welcomes custom orders.  If you like these purses but wish for them in another color  (perhaps different base colors or different bunny or cupcake icing colors or maybe you would like your cupcake beaded instead of adding carrots)... contact me about a purse made just for you. I have many happy customers who purchase or order from me regularly. I would love to make something for you as well.
Remember, these purses make the perfect accessory item, look great with almost any outfit, make great gifts and look terrific in pictures too. They are great for all ages to include todders, tweens, teens and adults. I will soon be placing both these items in my Etsy store as well.

Going on vacation?
Check out this vacation getaway treasury.  What a great collection!

I want to say a special THANK YOU to PrincessDesigns who featured my crocheted custom beaded ankle bracelet and necklace in her " Accessorize your Vacation Getaway" treasury collection on Etsy. It am in love with her choices. It makes me want to go on vacation! You can find the treasury HERE.
You can find PrincessDesigns on Etsy or by clicking on her shop name in pink here. Her store features some cute baby items and little bandana dresses. She is also running a sale right now! You get free shipping on the second item purchased through February 14th.

You can find my bracelet in her collection pictured here--- second row, second from the left. If you are interested in ordering one of my bracelets, you can find it in my Etsy store by clicking HERE.
This bracelet can be made to match, meaning the beads and foundation can be changed and ordered in other color combinations as well.

Bun-Bun's New Duds (New custom clothing for a favorite stuffed animal)

Most kids have a favorite toy or stuffed animal. I know adults who have treasured their favorite toy throughout childhood and still have it today. What is it that makes a toy extra special or loved? I don't know the answer to that question. I wanted my daughter to love a dainty but soft little doll. I quickly learned it doesn't work that way. Children latch on to "the toy" that they will treasure on their own accord. Bun-Bun, the little white bunny in the pictures, was a gift to my daughter from her big brother shortly after her birth. Bun-Bun seemed to be a favorite because of the "feel" of her body. Even as a small infant, she would roll the fabric in her little hands. Bun-Bun was carried around the house, on all car trips and even on every vacation. If my daughter couldn't find her, she would call out for her as if she really believed that Bun-Bun could talk. That bunny has never made it far from her sight.
As you might imagine, after a while, Bun-Bun began to show some wear and tear. Several months ago, I put a bit of new stuffing in her and made her a new dress out of a pair of outgrown sweat pants. That worked for a time, but recently, even that dress needed to be replaced.
My daughter asked me to crochet Bun-Bun a new dress to look something like Disney's Princess Cinderella's ball gown. She also asked for a hat that Bun-Bun's ears would go through. Believe it or not, it is amazing how many custom orders one can get from their own children. I get paid for those with her smiling face, hugs and kisses.

Without a pattern, this is what I came up with.
This is the view from the back and from the side.

My daughter is happy, I am happy, and if Bun-Bun could talk, I would imagine she would she would tell us that she is happy with her new duds too.
