It is New Years Eve...

My............
Well, I can hardly believe it myself but it is New Year's Eve. This year seems to have gone by painfully fast for me. I would have liked to savor my time a bit more but it seems I am almost always in a hurry. My optometrist and I were discussing this very thing last week as he reflected on how busy he had been this year. We laughed as we recalled the days of our youth when unhurried time seemed to be plentiful, recalling lazy days with "nothing pressing to do." What happened to those days? Hmmm, I am not sure. I used to think that I would "grow up" and be more in control of all my days and would have "all the time in the world." Somehow, it seems just the opposite happened when I reached adulthood.
I don't get it!

With all the modern conveniences we have and use on a daily basis, supposedly making our days "easier" and more organized, I find that I have less time instead of more. I can't help but think that we are all missing the boat here. Gone are the days when people have time just to visit or to "find" something to do. Instead, we have more and more of what we term "modern conveniences" which seems to leave us with less and less time. Our daily activities have become so impersonal. Texting has taken the place of calls or visits. Instead of visiting our friends or neighbors, we email them or text them. We have become such an impersonal race. I can't see how that is good. Perhaps our parents and grandparents were in fact the "lucky" ones savoring what has now seemingly been, at least to some degree, lost. I am not one to stand in the way of progress, and I like some of my electronic devices, (computer, etc) as well the next person, but may I suggest to all that for the coming year, we think about making a different kind of resolution.....one of a more personal nature. Maybe we could all take one day a week and "fast" from our electronic devices instead spending time with family or something along that line. Instead of texting, maybe just at least once a week we could visit a friend or actually pick up the telephone

and call them as opposed to emailing or texting. Our little family has decided to have a family game night once per week. It can't hurt anything can it? Who knows, we might all come out ahead for the new year.

I suspect that you all have many ways in which to celebrate the new year. My little family and I are going to ring it in at home, together. We are going to spend the evening together enjoying one another and talking a bit about all the many things we are thankful for. We are also going to talk a bit about what we each intend to do to make this world a better place in the new year. We happen to believe that if each of us did just one thing to make the world a better place, it would have a huge positive outcome.

So, as this year comes to an end and the new year dawns, I wish you all a safe and happy new year, filled with God's blessing on you and your families. I wish you all good health, good fortune and good friendship. May each of you enjoy each new day that God brings to you and may you make the most of it in a most positive way. May we all do what we can to support and show love to others and remember that there are many who are less fortunate than we ourselves might be. May we remember each day to thank God for all the blessings He has bestowed upon us and may we seek His ultimate guidance in all that we do and put our faith and trust in Him.

May we all take pride in our country and remember to support and pray for it, as well as the other countries in the world. May we remember to pray for peace in our world. Let us all remember to pray for our troops and our leaders.

May we do all that we are blessed to do and all that we put our hands to as unto God, for without Him we would not be blessed to do what we are doing anyway. May the coming new year bring each of us closer to Him.
I pray that 2011 is better to you as a person and to our nation than 2010 was. May we all work hard to do our part to make 2011 the best it can be.Happy New Year to you all.
God bless each of you.
Thank for visiting my blog.
I appreciate each of you!

May you be with the ones you love, whether they be in your memories, your dreams, your hearts or by your side this evening.
God Bless!
Happy New Year Everyone!

And They Called It "Puppy Love"..girl's outfit and purse

eBAY: Search MLANE BOUTIQUE to see all the listings of the fabulous designers of Memory Lane Boutique Launch group. You will be glad you did!

I was recently part of a boutique design collaboration with the very talented Julia of Frogbelliesandblossoms. This time, our quest was to come up with a set to the Boutique MemoryLane's "struck by the love bug" launch on ebay. Our quest: to come up with something to do with love. We chose the puppy love theme and set about
putting our collaborative boutique design together.

Working with Julia is always so much fun. We really make a good design team in that we just generally work well together and seem to be good at bouncing ideas off one another. We both bring different things to the table, and that is what makes it fun. Julia is a blast to work with. I expect that she and I will team many more times in the future, so stay tuned for lots more fun designs.

I created a pink, boutique style handmade crocheted poodle purse for this launch. I love how it turned out. Her ears and head are covered with fluff that is all crocheted in. Eyes and bows are all hand made and sewn on. All ends are securely finished! This purse is so cute! You can go directly to the auction to see all the pictures by clicking here: Bella*Sera*Boutique

You can see in this photo how well the purse and outfit match up! Our little model looks so cute in the set.

My little one loves the purse too and put a purse like this one her Christmas list. This one is ready to ship to the auction winner, so you could get one in time for Christmas too!

Here are some pictures of my made to match poodle purse:

To accompany this adorable accessory purse is the Puppy Love outfit made by Julia.

You can go straight to her auction for Puppy Love outfit by clicking here: Frogbelliesandblossoms.

This set is made of coordinating prints in bright, bold colors.  The top is made halter style and buttons up the back. The front is appliqued with the words "Puppy Love" on the top and a sweet poodle applique on the skirt. The end result is so cute! This is a ONE OF A KIND set, so bid accordingly. Both the purse and outfit are ready to ship to winning bidder...So, YES, you can get your set in time for Christmas! Great for upcoming Valentines Day too!
(The model here is 2 years old and this set fits her perfectly).

Dress her up for Christmas: Boutique Gingerbread set for little girl

I recently participated in a boutique collaboration with another designer. The outcome is so cute. I just had to share it with you. I teamed with Julia of Frogbelliesandblossoms to make this set. It took many, many weeks and hours to do the set but it was certainly worth it.
We made a Boutique ONE OF A KIND outfit that would dress a little princess "to the nines!" This would even be great for pageant wear! This pretty set is a little girls size 4, so you could possibly fit a three or a small 5 in it as well. If you plan to bid on this set, bid accordingly, because the set will not be repeated.
I will feature a few shots from each auction here, but I would encourage you to click the links to the auctions and go take a look at the sets there. There are many more pictures combined there with more information about the sets that you won't want to miss.

Not interested in the set for yourself..how about for a gift then? Or perhaps you know someone who might be interested in the ensemble. If yes, feel free to tell them about this set. It is very special.

The entire set has multiple pieces.
An appliqued gore skirt with matching candy piece, an appliqued gingerbread shirt, a sugarplum gingerbread cottage sweater, leg warmers with matching gingerbread duo pins, gingerbread & candy purse, and matching fluffy hat with gingerbread pin. The items for this set are all listed for sale by auction on eBay, but were listed separately. All items are ready for immediate shipment. This is a one of a kind set so if you want this set, you must bid accordingly. Best to bid early so you don't forget about the auction only to find that you lost out on the item.

First, I want to share with you the appliqued skirt and shirt set that were made by Julia of Frogbelliesandblossoms! Her sewing is nothing short of amazing. You are going to love this set. It is in a girls size 4. The 6-gore skirt is made of the softest 100% cotton denim, accented with adorable candies & gingerbread appliques.
The matching gingerbread girl applique shirt is trimmed with pink grosgrain ribbon that is detachable for easy washing.

Julia just amazes me with her craftsmanship. If you are familiar with her work, you know that it is top quality.
You can visit the auction for this skirt and top set on eBay by clicking here-FROGBELLIESANDBLOSSOMS.

Now, for the made to match accessory items to this set:

First there is a white sweater made by George in a size 4. To this is added a myriad of hand made crochet designs created with different top quality fibers. You will find a cottage and candy trimmings as well as the fluff all little girls want.
This sweater is a show stopper! Don't miss the little gingerbread girl on the front with the pink fluffy hair and the 3d dress. If you are interested in the sweater, you can find it by clicking here: Bella*Sera*Boutique

This hat for this set is really cute. It is made of top quality fibers and can be worn 2 ways so that it really does double duty and can be worn all year long. Wear it with the gingerbread pin or without. It is a very cute hat. You can find it by clicking here:Bella*Sera*Boutique

Also featured with this set are legwarmers made in a pretty soft pink. They have appliqued hearts on the cuffs and also come with a set of gingerbread pins that can be worn on the legwarmers or laced into shoes. You can find the legwarmers with gingerbread pins by clicking here: Bella*Sera*Boutique

Finally, there is a gingerbread and candy purse that is the perfect accessory item to finish up this set. It is white and decorated with a gingerbread in a fabric skirt and a piece of swirled candy. You can find it by clicking here: Bella*Sera*Boutique
I hope you will stop by the auctions to take a looks. There is a lot of information there that I am sure will make you smile.

Hairclips and Flowers

When asked to design a floral custom boutique style handmade hair clip to match a special little gals outfit, this is what I came up with. These flowers can be put on a hair clip as shown or can be added to a pony-o. I have even made them for custom orders for people who ordered them separately to sew on their own garments or accessories. Many colors and styles available.

Today is a celebration day for my very special Grandmother who turns 92 !
She is, in my opinion, the best grandmother ever!
I love you Mammaw! Have a great day!

Children around the world, ruffles, ruffles, and more ruffles!

Today, I have featured an amazingly pretty boutique set by Julia of frogbelliesandblossoms.

Once you see this set, you will understand why I couldn't pass up sharing it with you.
This set showcases children around the world in the most delightful way. Julia's set is for a boutique launch by the ebay boutique group Cherrylane with the current launch theme of "Circle of Friends."
This set has an abundance of girly, girl ruffles all made with Children of the World prints from Henry Alexander.

If you are familiar with his fabric, you are going to fall in love with this adorable set.

The skirt is made from the NieNie pattern from Pink Fig. The top is certainly a wow factor for the set featuring children around the world incredibly done in hand smocking!
Have you ever seen anything so pretty?
(The bows, which were part of a boutique collaboration, and are featured with the set are available as well. You can find out about how to get them by visiting Julia's auction for this lovely set.)

Woo Hoo, Check Out My New Ribbon!

I am a proud member of the BCMM (Boutique Custom Mini Mall) board and trivia team. Games go on for a month at a time with daily games held each day of the month. Winners are tabulated at the end of the month. I am proud to say I won first place for the month of September. I wanted to show you the ribbon I was awarded. (This is only my second time in first place.)
Trivia is a lot of fun. It doesn't really matter to me if I win or lose, but playing is a lot of fun. I have learned a lot of new things.

Thank you BCMM for the ribbon and thank you also to all the gals who played with me.

There are some really great players in the group and all do a fine job. I am both honored to receive the ribbon and to play with these fine gals!
